10. JEEP SAFARI – PUBLIC TOUR
A full-day public, Jeep safari tour of the unspoilt island of Gozo – an opportunity to sightsee on the island in 6-seater jeeps with an English-speaking guide. Recommended for small groups.
A one-day trip to the sister island of Malta includes a scenic ride along the Gozo coast, a ferry crossing between the islands, a delicious lunch and an exciting return by a speedboat to the idyllic Blue Lagoon.
On your return, by speedboat, you can admire the breath-taking cliffs of Comino. This tour is public, you will be joined by several other tourists from around the world on your tour of the island.
The local group leader and guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning at around 8:00 – 9:00. Each participant is also picked up from their own accommodation separately. When all the participants are present, they are transferred to the Cirkewwa ferry terminal. The ferry crossing will take about 20 minutes. On the other side, at the port of Mgarr on Gozo, you switch to jeeps with local drivers. The tour will be conducted in English.
Over the next few hours, our sightseeing trip, will take you to the most popular and exciting places in Gozo.
Sites such as, Ramla Bay, famous for its reddish-golden sand and the Calypso Cave overlooking the western side of the beach. Dwejra with the remnants of the famed Azure Window, which has been featured in many different media, perhaps most notably the hit-television series “Game of Thrones”.
The charming Xlendi Bay, a popular diving site as well as harbouring tombs dated to the Punic – Byzantine eras. The natural salt pans at Xwejni, conceived of by the ancient Phoenicians then later developed by Romans, still creating shimmering white pyramids of salt.
The tour also visits the mysterious Ta’ Pinu Shrine, a Roman Catholic minor basilica, dedicate to the blessed virgin of Ta’ Pinu, of which the origins are unknown. Then Victoria (Rabat) – the Gozitan Capital among many more…
At around 12:00 – 12:30, the group will stop for lunch. A full-day tour of Gozo by jeep has a meal included in the price of the basic package. After lunch, you continue exploring the island.
At the end of the tour of Gozo – an exciting ride back to Malta by motorboat along the Comino coastline awaits you!
After the full-day sightseeing tour of Gozo, participants will be taken back to their hotels, one by one. Planned return time: 17:00-18:00.
